One of the main differences between La Academia de Estrellas and other schools is our focus on providing a
wide range of experiences to our students.

All students go on four field trips each year in the Dallas area to places such as the Dallas Children's Theater, the
Museum of Nature and Science, the Dallas Arboretum, and the Trinity Audubon Nature Center.

In  addition, grades 3-5 go on a couple out-of-town field trips, with each grade spending a day at Camp JOLT on
Lake Texoma.

Third grade typically visits Houston seeing NASA and the museums around Hermann Park.  Fourth grade travels
to Austin and San Antonio, seeing the state capitol, the University of Texas, the River Walk, and the Alamo.  Fifth
grade heads north to Oklahoma touring OU's campus, its museums and catching a sporting event, before seeing
the sites of Oklahoma City.

Our philosophy of giving our students new experiences extends into the classroom as well. We strive to bring in
interesting speakers who will provide our students with a view of what they can become when they grow up.  Our
inquiry-based learning emphasizes the discovery of new concepts and the vast array of natural and man-made
wonders that lay beyond our students neighborhoods.
